Please Wing-Feather Haters don't shoot me down!

I'd like some more advise on Delayed Feathering.
I know i need Delayed Feathering Hens to use to Feather-Sex.

But what should i be looking out for? is all Delayed-Feathering Sex-Linked?

I've got a Strain of Pekin who have considerably shorter wings than Pekin i've bred from a different group, are they likely to be Delayed Feathering? is there anything else they could be?

Thankyou

Strain certainly can effect development, as can the food they are getting and the temperature they are kept at.

Best of luck with your chickens!

These chicks are the same age and in the same clutch, the one at the top is what i believe to be Delayed Feathering, bottom is Normal Feathering.

top is typical of every chick with that sire (a Salmon) they're all slow feathering male or female.
bottom is normal for every other breeding group I've got. these guys where hatched under a hen in a clutch of 9.
