it’s been a while, but today I realized that my nine surviving quail got big, and I still have no clue what breed or gender they are! All Japanese quail, but I’m wondering what you call the colors. I have group pictures, as well as close ups of the less flighty ones.

Also yes, I know the setup isn’t great, I’m working on fixing up a old cheap Amazon coop, and I want to fix my fox problem (he took fourteen of my half grown chickens ) before I get my weakest, more valuable birds outside.

How old are they now? If they are over about 3 weeks then you can take photos of the Italians (golden) and the pharaoh (brown with cream stripes) we can probably tell you what you have. Those varieties you can sex by colour. The ones you have managed to get individual photos of are all ones that need vent sexing after 6-8 weeks old.
