Quack! Dear good people from BYC!

I just hate snakes! And when i saw that thing curled around my duck's neck - It could have been a 15' long Anaconda and i would tried to save the duck!
I haven't seen skinks here, but we have plenty of lizards here helping to keep the insect population down. They are afraid of the ducks and run or hide if one approaches.

I had about a 4' king snake in my duck run Wednesday. The same kind that killed my baby duck last year only a couple of feet smaller. I'm NOT having it because like you said I can visualize it wrapping around my adult ducks and squeezing the life out of them if they get to curious and start pecking around it. I don't think I could grab it like you did though. I would stand there screaming! You are a brave man who conquers fear! Oh, that snake (hopefully THAT snake) is no longer a threat!

Thank you very much, but i am not brave! I was just not thinking! After i threw that snake away i had to sit down with pudding in my knees. And Ranger's story came to my mind and i thought how close my duck came to a similar faith. I know snakes are important for an ecosystem and i'm sure half of my duck food would be eaten by mice, rats and other animals, would there not be snakes around here, but i still don't like them! Same with spiders! I don't kill them in the house if i can avoid it, i just move them outside but they give me cold shivers and the creeps.

Well I don’t think I could have done what you did! My husband kept telling me I should have let our puppy go after it but after he saw how big it was he admitted that it could have killed the puppy if it could have got it’s tail around it! Yes I get that they are good for lots of things but killing my animals isn’t something I’m willing to risk.

Quack friends!
Its me, Blanca Duck again!
Our humon was sitting the whole day on them patio with his computer thing, ranting and complaining about an »idiloc at his custard«, now he left, mumbling something like »walking it off«. If i rant, Katharina Duck always bites me!
I think he is walking down to fill our supper-bowl with those tasty leaves. Anyways, he is not here so i slipped on the patio to send you a new message:
We think we know what he is doing with those round white things, my older sisters pop out every morning: He is making monsters! And he is not paying attention to those, they come to our house in the night and scare us! Quack!
Two nights ago one of these things, they wear a black mask in their faces, was climbing all over our house and tried to get in. Luckily it ran into a box and could not get back out but was hissing at us! We could not sleep the whole night!
In the morning our humon took that box, went into the woods and came back with that box empty. Those monsters must have their house in the woods! We are all sure our humon will try to take over the world with his monster army.
Quack! He's coming back, i can hear him puffing like Limpy the drake when he is angry! Where is that send button? Quack quick!
