She is most definitely NOT a quail d'Anver. the chick color is the same though so it could have been an easy mistake to make. but Belgian d'Anvers (BTW Quail is just the name of their color, not the breed, there are lots of colors of d'Anvers) anyway they have beards and rose combs. Your hen is beardless and has a single comb. She look like a Brown Red game hen.

I have two Brown Red bantam Phoenix chicks that look like what I bet you hen looked like as a chick. the two black colored ones in the middle of the pic. The others are white phoenix and a silver phoenix.

Thanks for the info. After researching it seems she is a OEGB. The things we read about seems wrong. It says the hens can be aggressive. Our hen seems to be very docile. she has been very sweet. She gets picked on a little. I got my chickens from My pet chicken.com.

All my OEGB hens and roos are very sweet, although they won't put up with larger hens bossing them and their chicks... LOL. I've had a lot of them and never had a mean one. I even had one that sat on and hatched duck eggs and when the momma duck tried to take back her ducklings that momma OEGB tried to beat the tar out of her.... LOL. Poor girl, she was so sad when I too them and gave them back to the duck, but she foster mothered with another OEGB hen.
