Quail breeding season.

I always started putting quail eggs in the incubator around April but it February 19th are the cutornix quail breeding yet. My quail hens lay eggs all winter long. But I just put a new male in with them. since last fall I sold my old one to someone that really needed him I got a new one about two weeks ago but they all are getting along just fine. Thanks

Is your male active? If he's getting enough daylight hours and crowing then he should be doing his part. Crack open a few eggs and see if you can see the bullseye on the yolk that indicates it is fertilised.

Yea he is calling I haven't seen him mount any hens but they are outside so they get that light cycle but they do have a heat lamp on at night since in Ohio it is still getting cold at night but almost 70 degrees these past few days.
