Hi, thought I'd update 
After more observations, we realised that this poor chick has been sneezing/coughing after every time it drinks. We noticed that it has a tendency of dipping its beak way deeper in the water than necessary resulting in water getting into its nostrils! Poor thing! After some adjustments to the water level, its doing fine now No more squawking!
