Quail chick vomited and died

One of my one week old Texas A&Ms was acting funky so I picked it up to examine. An absolute ton of water came out of it's mouth and it passed away very quickly. After it passed maybe another 1/4 cup of water came out? It was all over the ground. Anybody have any idea what happened? There was no other issues with the bird, no pasting or anything.

Was it eating well? It sounds like a crop issue, but without seeing it, it's hard to tell.

I have 20 chicks so as best I could tell that one was eating ok. My office desk is right next to the brooder so I watch them all day for signs of problems. I really don't want to autopsy it, should I be worried about some sort of disease spreading to the other ones?

One chick dying, wouldn't worry me, but keep an eye on the rest. Sometimes one or two just fail to thrive or die from some other reason.
