Deep wood chips ? how do you do that in the coop ?About half of mine are broody, but I very seriously doubt their ability to hatch eggs. I often have to lift the female off the eggs and even so, only half are warm, they’re really bad at it, and if you gave them 100 eggs to brood you might get 2 or 3 chicks.
they started going broody when I gave them deep wood chips, before that only one went broody off and on. They mostly hoard inside cinderblocks, between cinderblocks and walls, and in the corners of the pen. 2 of my 3 males participate, and often sit on the eggs, but just as often stand next to the eggs letting them get cold.
