These are not the best pictures....disregard the poo crust on his chest!...but on the chest it looks to be the Rosetta or Tibetan color pattern. His back is more of a solid color and his longer wing feathers are much different. Love to have your input.

One of these days...hopefully soon as I have looked at pictures and read a million posts on colors, I will be able to tell the difference between and Italian and a Golden, a Rosetta and Tibetan, etc. Don't even want to think about this roux business I just ran across on a post not long ago! lol

    Thanks again

it looks like you got a bit of tibetan red range roux and maybe wild type.

    I could be totally wrong

    or a Rosetta. :)

I just hatched one not to long ago. I'm not sure how to tell the tow apart yet, they are very similar. Hopefully someone will be along that can tell us.

    Very nice bird!

My guess is a Rosetta or a scarlett. The feathers have lacing.

Looks like a Rosetta, unfortunately not that uncommon. But still pretty [IMG]

I have 10-12 others, same hatch, that appear much darker than this one...there are actually two that look different than those others. Maybe the rest are Tibetan...I did see a picture of a tibetan/dark range that looks like the others...and the two lighter ones are Rosettas? I sure don't know! lol. I will see if I can put up some better pictures of the two, and next to the others.

    Thanks!

It is possible you can get rosettas and tibetans from the same parent matings.

Thanks! I will put up some pictures later today of the two that have different coloring next to the other 10 or12. I thought it was nice of him/her? to lay sideways calmly in my hand so I could take the picture of the wing feathers! lol
