Quail diaper size?

Could you put newspaper or something similar down over the carpet?

Theres no way that would be good enough, they fly everywhere! Mine escape in the house constantly and leave little piles here and there. I just clean it up though, i dont care for bird diapers either... but for someone who wants a frequently loose pet i can see why they would choose to use one.
Though, perhaps clipping a wing would help like with a chicken, so that the quail stayed more in the spot you want... i had a peacock i raised inside and i just would lay a tarp down and have baricades around the edge, then he could play on the tarp and dustbathe and stretch and explore. (Until he was old enough to start going out side during the day of course.)
Anyway, tarps are nice because thwy are reusable and washable, etc. Plus its easier just stretching out one or two large things instead of a million expensive puppy pads or newspapers...

I’ll take one quail size and one peacock size. My peacock likes to come to my back door and leave land mines on the mat. Sounds funny til you almost break your neck sliding across the deck on a pile of crap on a wet day.
