Quail egg swap

I think as PC does, it could either be from lack of grit grinding up the sharp parts, OR it's dye. Birds do poo out dye when they eat an excess of it. Think of purple bird poo on your windshield when berries are ripe in your area....it's kinda funny it's like ya know wha hte birds are eatin a lot of LOL!!!!

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about

...i'm starting to worry now..today i noticed some red in their poop... and i am freaking out thinking that the seed shells i ground up(with the seeds) are cutting them up inside or something...i had my mother come over to take a look at them for me..(shes a bird nut) and she said she thinks its just the red dye that some of the seeds had on them...i hope so!..i have been watching them very closely today..i am already so attached to these 7 little ones...i'd be devastated....so, i'm keeping my

..that my mother is right...i'll keep ya posted....i am such an idiot sometimes!..

Hopefully your mom is right about the red. They were indoors in a clean
brooder with fresh pine. They shouldn't have cocci. I've had my chickens
poop some blood when I was feeding them an old back of sunflower
seeds and not giving them enough grit. I've noticed red in my Coturnix
once or twice that never developed into a problem.

Hi PC...i think it was only the seed dye...they are still active and alert..and no more red in the poop so...

..i think were okay here..

...i also added some parakeet grit for them to check out...they had scrambled eggs today with some grit sprinkled on top(just to be safe)... thanks for replying back..
