Jumbos are said to get to an lb but none of my jumbos seem that big....so it seems like it may be a misconception that they get as big as a lb---least that's what some other breeders have said.

Jumbos by the way aren't a breed, just a line of the same breed of quail (coturnix) that were selectivly bred....the biggest quail was bred to the biggest quail resulting in....wellbigger quails.

They come in several colors as well
*British Range aka Tibetan (you can see these on my site)
*Golden- aka Manchurian, and something speckled they are known by (on my site)
*Fawn- i dont think these are vailable in the states
*silver- i dont thnk these are readily available in the states
*A & M- pure white strain produced at the A&M college in texas
*Tuxedo aka White Breasted- I have a mismarked tux on my site, and am getting true tuxedos on saturday and will be posting pictures of them asap
*red head- don think these are in the states yet
*imperfect albino- have no clue where to get these never seen one...this may even just been an A&M ....which they are not albinos at all...an albino has NO pigment and A&Ms have black eyes
*Black
*Cinnamon

and theres more morphs coming all the time.

I'll have A&Ms on my site as well after sat.

was bored decided to add some pics here

I hope I can join the egg swap in the spring. I have a pair of Button Quail but I want more and it would be exciting to hatch my own. Just hoping I get eggs to swap.

I have White Texas A&M Quail... and would love to join a swap...

My hen just started laying a few weeks back and I put her eggs in the bator and had 2 out of 4 hatch just today... (not bad considering about a week ago my one year old little girl had unplugged the bator and it was about 2 hours later before I found it and plugged it back in... The temp had dropped to 68!) And these where some of her first eggs she laid! So I think under the right conditions she should lay some pretty fertile eggs... I just need to learn to pack them and ship them... (I'm still a newbie at all this... LOL)

Here is a pic of my hen "Tweet" (She is missing a few feathers on top... My frisky male just won't leave her alone)

As you can see she isn't much bigger than a handful...

And here are my 2 new babies... "Wagonwagon" and "Diamond" (the kids named them... LOL)

And this one here already is demanding attention...
