Quail eggs are driving me mad!!

Quail are aggressive though and actually need more space per bird than a bantam chicken. Try Serama Chickens they are the smallest in the world not much bigger than the quail and better behaved. They are about the size of a soda can!!! Many people keep them as house birds.

I'v ordered the quails eggs already if they dont work out i'll give them ago i'll be only keeping a few thats if I ever get any to hatch I have revamped my incubator I have 2 fans in there I have a raised mesh floor with a water tight bottom which I can use as a tray and the bulb is now thru the top looks good.

Your thread just caught my attention. My brother made his own incubator just 1st week of this month because he wants to raise quail eggs too. His incubator works fine with chicken eggs but for quail eggs, he's still waiting... now on its 2nd week...

Hi all I hope all goes well for you lot this will be my 5th attempt but I'm learning more and more the more attempts I have but some of my problems was mail service treating my eggs like a football and my first attempts was due to me having my humidity to high but my incubator is getting better every time I revamp it I only want 3 quail 1male 2females and I've got other people waiting on some so I'm looking a bit stupid at the mo considering I done game keeping at collage lol

Keep with it. My first 2 hatches didn't turn out too well with my styrobator. Since you're using a home made one I have the feeling you'll figure out just what needs to be improved if anything at all. I agree with[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] yo burrill on the Seramas. They're fantastic birds and very small.[/FONT]

thanx using twin fans seems to be working much better if none of these hatch I've ordered 32 eggs lol now that will be bad luck I will try seramas

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about the postman playing football with them. Sorry you are having such a hard time getting anything to hatch. Sounds lioke you are doing everything right from your side of things....

still waiting they better of sent them yesterday and not last Thursday else them eggs wont be any good
