I think you may be right - my original alpha roo (James Bond) has been uncharacteristically subdued of late. Now I’ve noticed feathers pecked out of the back of his neck, too. I think the covey overall only wants one male.

Well, the update is that after the mutiny on Ru Paul, the submissive roo, they started laying again within a day! My alpha roo, James Bond, who was showing signs of being attacked, is now healing and crowing again. And the final remaining roo seems quite at peace sharing the harem of 7 hens with James. I think we may have achieved a workable ratio, fingers crossed!
