I know most chicken eggs you buy at the grocery store won't be fertile, but what about quail eggs? Is it worth grabbing a pack and incubating? They aren't kept refrigerated.

Is there a way to know for sure if an egg is fertile other than by incubating it for a few days then candling?

No, there is no way to tell if an egg is fertile without either cracking or incubating it. I've never seen quail eggs at the grocery store, so I'm not sure about that, but it's worth a try!

YES quails eggs have a thick membrane and can survive room temperature for hours here's the funny thing I put a quail egg in the usual sleeping spot of one of my quails and that quail run around all day and then slept in its sleeping spot all night and the quail egg started developing having outside temperature all day but quail temperature all night and after about three days it started developing I got scared that it would not get the hatching so I have in an incubator inside right now but yes quail eggs at the supermarket if they are fertilized they're very likely to hatch if you want to hatch quail I would recommend this strategy if you can't already buy fertilized eggs then yes supermarket eggs are likely to hatch just make sure they're free range the ones that are in the little cages do not breed.
