That was my first thought while I looked at the two birds out by the water dish. Then I looked harder and realized they were twice the size of my cots! they had a purplish breast and two black eye stripes, and were really pretty, they then noticed me in the house and hurried off towards the poplar tree by the quail hutch. I opened the door and they flew low and fast away from me! They were Hungarian partidges from pics I have found, and they were simply beautiful. I had bought a bag of scratch for my chickens, and they are kinda picky eating it, they leave the millet seeds and cracked corn, eating only the wheat out of it. I think that's why the partidges were out there tonight. How Cool!!
