Looking for something that I won't have to open the coop every day to fill and something that they won't kick out all the food. I'll add a picture of our coop and the systems I have been thinking about. I just don't knowwwww lol.. I am a visual learner so please show me what you got :clap

we built the coop by hand, and have modified it as we’ve gone along raising quail. It’s PVC pipe that’s been glued together and then we cut out holes in the feeder part. They still pick some food out but they no longer dig and kick it out. Also depending on the Amt of birds we have in each hutch it can last three to six days. We’ve got 15 or so in the top rn and around 45 in the bottom one.

The pipe inside is 2in, and the pipe outside is 4in. Also, the waterer you’re looking at is ok, I’ve got three however; from personal experience I can tell you a) once it’s on the hutch you can’t take it off to clean out unless you unscrew the cup and b) if you make the mistake I did and don’t put it high enough the birds will actually sit in it. My biggest issue with it is the cleaning out part. I’d recommend the nipples instead of cups though! Less dirt and poopy water.

The cup style waterer is great for chicks. I buy just the cup parts and attach them to bottles, it’s far cheaper that way. Normally I use pickle or peanut containers for chicks and huge Costco size pretzel containers or apple juice bottles for outdoors. For adults I use nipples and not cups. The cups I use for chicks until 3 weeks, by that age they can then operate the nipples. I buy rent a coop brand of both styles.
