Quail had big hole/bump on her wing

Mike Will had a huge bump on her Wing the other day we pulled it off and it seemed painless for her and it came out and left a hole and it looks like white old hard pus or something, it was really clean and it did not seem to bother her but it's a big bloody hole and it has a hard white spot in it it doesn't remind me of pus because it's hard like a bone, my husband said we need to get it out then, I told him it might be a broken feather or something, he said we should definitely take it out, but he's been working so I didn't, I pulled the bump out again a couple days later it healed and scabbed over maybe I shouldn't have messed with it but when I pulled the bump off it was white hard stuff came out again in the hole is the same looking with that hard white thing sticking up, should I get a pair of tweezers and remove that white thing in the bump, do you think it's a broken piece of feather, could it be a bone of some kind. It doesn't seem to bother her but I really like for it to heal the right way whatever it is
