Quail hatching in 24 hours question

congrats on you success. 14 out of how many?

I think I had 25 living eggs.It really was bad as with chickens and turkeys I have a 100% hatch rate with living eggs so far. I did learn from this. So it wasn't completely in vain.
I have since decided to wait on anymore quail eggs.

Thanks for the tips everybody. I am a little concerned today makes day 18 and no sign of hatching, any thoughts here, I thought it was average 17 days???

Hello! I’ve been hatching quails for a while and in my experience they usually hatch around 20 days. Maybe it’s just my incubator? But I’ve met many people who say it male take as many as 24 days to hatch. I would leave the eggs for at least 4 or 5 days after you expected them to hatch. If none of them do, throw them out, or crack them open to see where the development went wrong. I know it’s sad to see, but sometimes it helps! Some of the eggs may not have been fertilized, or there wasn’t enough humidity and they died while trying to hatch. Best of luck!

Good advice in my opinion I think the previous poster must be hatching coturnix quail which hatch on or near 17 days? I'm pretty sure other breeds of quail have a longer incubation, but not too familiar

My Bob white quail are 3 months old and seem to be maturing all 14 have made it. I have 7 roosters and 7 Hens. Can anyone tell me when to expect eggs. I have not seen any kind of mating rituals going on.? I live In Central Florida so its still very warm.

A friend in Gulf Port will get a few eggs from his early hatches at five months or so but mine never lay until the following Spring.
