Quail hatching in 24 hours question

UPDATE !!
Ok, so I put 24 eggs into incubator June 10, waited n waited. Did the float test after 19 days passed and no hatching. 10 eggs moved, SO, put em all back in the incubator. Almost to give up on July 8th FINALLY I have 1 hatch, talk about LATE !! It's now July 9 and I have 5 eggs beginning to crack. Im beginning to believe I may have the longest allotted time for hatching quail eggs in history, or so it seems LOL ...... I reckon not giving up pays off :D

Yeah I think they are Bob Whites and the reason I don't know all of their "types" is because here locally a farm just opened their doors and released 4 houses full of quail and I have no clue why, so I went and caught 30 and brought them home, so I kinda have no clue other than the bobwhites what I actually have.

Since I still have only one that has hatched and it seems to be taking so long, what is your thoughts on taking an adult female and putting it with the baby because it looks weak even though it's eating and drinking, I don't know I'm just kinda worried?????

You need to relax and take it easy. No need to stress it. Quails can look after themselves from day 1. Just provide feed, water and most importantly, heat. A weak or struggling chick is really not worth saving anyway. I just hatched a dozen japanese quails myself on day 16. Waiting for the next 4 dozen to hatch. I will suggest you get some fertile japanese quail eggs as well. Better egg laying and better feed conversion. If you have any questions or problems, i know this really awesome place where you will definitely get all the answers and expert support from seasoned poultry veterans. It's called backyardchickens! You might have heard of it? ; ^ )
