Quail hatching

I wish mine would have hatched that fast! I had 100+ eggs set, all at the same time, and they hatched over a 5 day period! I have been told by other people on this forum that quail chicks need to be fed no longer than 24 hours after hatch. I would say take out the dry ones, and move them to the brooder. You will lose some humidity, just be sure to have hot water and a paper towel on hand to put in the bator.

did you take the fluffy chicks out yet? I agree with shelley if you havent you should they'r eprobably starving. If you're meaning teh eggs that havent hatched, dunno really like SHelleys experience.... many have hatched days later! LOL!

I have been told to wait 3 days after the last chick hatched before 'pulling the plug'. So if you had 1 chick hatch yesterday or the day before, then sit on your hands and wait some more!! Gotta get all you can out of there!

Definitely pull them within 24hrs. I left some buttons once and they started picking at the hatching eggs so the last few to hatch that morning before I got to the bator were partially featherless and bloody. If you don't remove them I'd sprinkle some food in through the vents so they have something to peck at. When they get hungry and/or bored quail tend to turn to each other to satisfy themselves.
