Quail hoarding food?

Do quail carry food to their nests and save it for later?
I have a rabbit nest box in my quails cage. This morning it was time to clean it. And there was along with all the poop, hay and cardboard what looked like game feed.
I was surprised as no one had said anything about this behavior.

Or was it just really dirty?

I haven't seen my birds do that, but they will run off with a prize (like a worm) and try to keep it from the others while dining on it - if it's not something that they can swallow whole.
