quail keep dieing in the brooder?

I knew it. This is why we joined BYC so as adults we could openly talk about Poo and not get into trouble.

So anyone know where I can get an old wringer mop bucket? I'll check the local hardware store. Back to cracking Pecans.

This is why I try to tread lightly in the great litter debate. I not only don't have an old washing machine, I don't even have a barn.

Every floor covering has it's up sides and down sides, but most of all...It has to be serviceable, by the user.

yea I was thinking , I'm glad I don't use a laundrymat , to do my quilts anymore.

Hang on folks.............put your weapons down.................Lemme explain a little more thorough........PLEASE? Before they leave my house..........or even get in the back of my pickup truck, they go into a large garabage can (THAT IS USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THIS) with bleach and water to soak for a while. WITH ELBOW-LENGTH LATEX GLOVES ON, I rinse these out multiple times, changing water each time UNTIL THERE'S NOTHING LEFT BUT SLIGHT STAINS.........AGAIN ALL OF THIS WITH BLEACH WATER. When I'm done there is a slight stain on them, BUT NO REMOVABLE POOP. They are hung to dry OUTSIDE ON A LINE.

When they DO go into the commercial washer at the local laundry mat.............I'll say this much................They're a HECK of a lot cleaner than some stuff (e.g. Human DNA) I've seen go in those washers..........and that includes the dryers to.
So how about giving a person the benefit of the doubt before you convict them!

OTOH................If you ad bleach to the final rinse you disinfect both the towels AND the washer!

Am I the only one who didn't look twice at the laundromat thing?

People wash dirty diapers in them. Sometimes they don't rinse them well first.

People wash bedding from their dogs in these, too. Sometimes dogs...

They wash sheets in them. They do all kinds of things on those sheets.

Heck, they wash their underwear in them. Some of those underwear have skid marks...

A bit of baby quail poo wouldn't bother me any more than that stuff, especially if there was bleach being used.

Now I am wondering why to Laundromat them. So what if there's a little stain on them, I promise the quail babies don't care. Trust me I know, mine are more than a little stained to the point where bleach has little effect anymore. About time to replace some of them. Why aren't there gamebird smilies up there? hum...

Did I miss it, how are those last 2 baby quail doing?

I think we got carried away again, and he gave up on us. Well Blaine don't take it personal this happens quite a bit around here.
