I took six of my newly hatched quail out of the incubator around 4:00 p.m. All of them are very active and walking around except one. The one just lays there and when he tries to walk its like his legs don't have enough strength to hold him up. Whats the problem?

Some quail are very weak after the hatching process and it isn't unusual to have one that doesn't recover. You could try vitamins in the water to give it a boost and help it dip its beak in. Just make sure there's feed scattered all over the floor of your brooder so that it can find food easily. You could also try giving them a cloth to snuggle under as I find that helps to strengthen their legs as they will push up into it. Hopefully it will perk up soon for you.

I agree with JaeG, try getting some Nutri-Drench into the little one. I give it to all my new hatch chicks for 2 weeks. Seems to perk the weak ones right up!:) Wish you the best.
