quail panting ???!!

my quail on and off pant with their beaks half open and their throat vibrating. No sound. The brooder is relatively cool now so heat is not the issue. They have access to water and only some do it, some of the time. they are 4 weeks old

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong with them?

Have you removed heat??? If panting they are too hot!!! Past 3 weeks extra heat can cause feather loss that will not regrow

i remove the heat source and now no more panting thanks to you guys well i found something odd on their head in the picture below there is like some small hole on their head? what could be this one?

It looks like it may have been pecked and lost some feathers. Keep an eye on it, but it should heal quickly unless someone keeps picking on it.

okay..both of them are having this do you remember the two lone chicks that hatched seperately and now getting along with each other? i posted on my other thread
