Quail pattern genetics

I recently got some quail D'Anvers chicks and am interested in learning more about this pattern and the genetics behind it. Unfortunately trying to search 'quail chicken' and similar variations always seems to reault in a large number of results about actual quail (understandable).

I thought I'd ask here if anyone would be able to point me to some resources or give me a rundown.

Yes, it is hard when there is a more common meaning for the words you need to use. I tried "genetics quail d'anvers chicken" and found a few things.

The chicken calculator lets you change genes in the dropdown boxes, and then the picture of the chicken changes to show approximately how that looks.

The calculator can also figure offspring from various crosses, but I haven't played with that feature much.

The abbreviations for the various chicken color genes are pretty standardized, so they are likely to be the same in each place (threads on this forum, other information pages, chicken calculator.)
