I was only able to buy Poultry Chick starter 21% protein. The lady said thats what everbody here buys for their Pheasants and other Gamebirds. Is that okay?

I'm interested to know if this is good enough as well. The game bird feed I have found is expensive and the delivery will cost me a fortune as well because the place is too far for me to be able to pick the feed up myself

NEVER TAKE FEED ADVICE FROM ANYONE WHO WORKS IN OR OWNS A FEED STORE!
Sorry for shouting! You don't really want to know what stupid ignorant people feed their birds, now...do you? Rhetorical question.
If 21% protein chick starter is all you can get in your neck of the woods, then that's all you can get. Don't even try to get anything better. Just pay the feed store lady, and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. It's woefully inadequate for properly raising anything anyone can even call a "GAME BIRD" but they will not die from eating their chicken dungeon gruel.
Do a web search for real Game bird feed. I see you are from way up north, so you may not get good results.
What you are looking for is REAL GAME BIRD FEED. Not higher than 18% protein chicken feed. A good substitute is non-medicated turkey feed....IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND THAT.

It won't kill them, but is not what they need.
Yes Game bird feed is a bit more expensive than chicken feed. It cost me 36 US. cents a pound, and my birds eat it like candy!
