I have some babies I wanted to move outside but they aren’t nipple waterer trained (and when I try in the brooder they just ignore it and go for the water bottle). I tried to show these 3 week chicks what to do but they are too busy having a panic attack to pay attention. If they were going in the big pen (which they aren’t because they’ll get squished!) the other birds would train them, and I really don’t have the patience to watch and show and make sure the silly things figure it out. How about a role model? I have a nice little hen that does great with babies, why not let auntie show them how it is done? She went in the baby pen and Half an hour later they are nipple trained! If only this worked on human teenagers!

This is a GREAT idea! I have some 3 week olds that I'm trying to nipple train and though some get it, some are just not catching on. I might take one of my gentler big girls and put her up with the little for a day to see if she can show them the ropes.
