"Quail Thread-Hatching, Mutations, and everything quail related!!!"

I added three 6-7 week old hens to an established hen/cock pair, and another 6-7 week old hen to an established hens/cock trio. I was looking to get all my quail pens up to 3-4 hens per cock.

These were all brown coturnix. No real problems were encountered. Was I lucky? Or is it because they were Coturnix?

My last hatched group are close to laying age. When they start to lay I plan to up it to 4 hens per cock in all my pens.

Putting a bunch (100+?) jumbo brown coturnix eggs in the incubator today!
The ratio is perfect. 4 even better hope all goes well with your hatching. Yes cournix are very calm quails unlike the others

I tried hatching 28-Bobwhite eggs and got 2-for my effort. I am still not sure how long incubation time is. Does any one know and also what temp is required?
It takes 22 to 25 days for a bobwhite Quail egg to hatch. It may take longer depending on the overall egg

Our 1st egg she laid it at 6wk1day :)

Hovabator is good . The Little Giant incubators are very difficult to keep the temp just right
