Quail waterers?

I am using rabbit water bottles with the stainless steel tube and ball. My local pet store carries a 1.5litre size (slightly smaller than a pop bottle). It's an option if you don't want to order online.

Thanks for the link, just ordered 2, simply and easy....... I just got quail.regular size anyway...... love these birds

I've used rabbit water bottles, auto waters, and now the ones Kullas mentioned. I'll not use anything else now, these offer a nice catch basin below, as well as the auto watering feature I love, as I'm a fan of automation.

They are a bit involved to get set up, but WELL worth it, IMHO.

I use Kullas' system as well. Here is my page with the chicken waterer, but I built a quail one that is pretty much the same just shorter (quail have tiny legs, LOL...).

I started my babies on the nipples by putting them in the lids of large gatoraide bottles and hanging them from the inside of the cage. It worked great! Now they are trained and are doing great with the "big kid" waterer. I don't use the cups, but mud isn't exactly a problem here in Arizona. The water pretty much dries as soon as it drips.

I will take some pictures of the quail set-up for you so you can see what I did. I've had chicks use the rabbit bottles, so I don't see why quail couldn't do it if you show them how. Believe me, if they are thirsty enough they won't be afraid to see what you want to show them! They will catch on quickly. (Sorry, does that sound like I don't give my babies water? Yikes!!! Don't worry, they are well loved and cared for!)
