So i rescued my quail two years ago and shes been around my dogs all this time, but today my dog mistook her for a mouse and nearly killed her. Fortunately shes ok except for a broken finger, its an internal fracture (looks split in two) and looks a bit purple and swollen i bandaged it but what else should i do? There are no vets close to where i live :(.

I'm sorry to hear about your Quail.
Sounds painful! Is there bone sticking out of the skin?
You can try splinting it to help stabilize it so it can heal. Here's a splinting manual that you may find useful.

I had this with one of mine a few years ago. I cut out a 'shoe' from cardboard by using her good foot as a template (what fun drawing round a quails toes!!!), flipped it over to match the broken side and then just used medical tape to tape her toes into their correct position. I had to replace it several times but she wore the shoe for two weeks and was then right as ninepence. I kept her separated off with a couple of other girls during the process....swapping her cage mates over each day so that she remained familiar to a number of them so that they accepted her back into the flock ok.
