Quail with sprained leg

A few minutes ago my quail flew up, banged his head, and crashed onto the floor. Now he's laying down (which he doesn't do that often) and sort of sleepy. What do I do? I'm so worried for him because yesterday while I was away, I think he strained his leg and it got worse. Is it possible for a 3 year old quail to die from shock, since I've read another thread with a young quail injuring its leg and dying from shock?

Quail have been known to flush and hit their heads hard enough to die. Keep him quiet, keep food and water very close to him so he doesn't have to move much. I would suggest putting a heat lamp on him and keep the temperature in his area at about 80 degrees. Watch him. If he starts to pant, lower the temp, but he should be kept warm.

I believe I've mentioned before that 3 is old for a quail, and yes, it's possible that he won't make it. It's also possible that he might have another year in him.

My almost three year old male quail is in a similar predicament as yours @TurtletheCoturnix , I'm sorry about your quail. How has he fared since?
Unfortunately he hasn't improved, and it's been two months since he first was injured. A while back I tried wrapping his leg but it didn't seem to help at all, so I just let him be in his cage. His eating and drinking and mental state hasn't been affected by his leg. I hope your quail gets better (and if he/she does, please let me know how you cared for it!)
