check the sticky at the top of the page for more quail raising info. Quail are not quite as simple as BWQ Lover writes.
Coturnix are calmer and mostly not aggressive. Bobwhites are VERY AGGRESSIVE .
They are NOT like little chickens,in csae you weren't aware, they WILL fly away.
there is ALOT of excellent info on this site about quail. Be sure to thoroughly research before you commit to them...

CHICKENS ARE CARRIERS OF DISEASES THAT QUAIL MAY DIE FROM...you put them together and you end up with serious problems alot of times.
If you have both chickens and quail on your property you NEED to be sure to be VERY CAREFUL not to contaminate by changing shoes/clothes and sanitizing hands before going from 1 to the other.

Now i'm thinking Quial isn't such a great idea. I already knew they both could get sick from each other, but thanks anyways for the info!

I have raised my Buttons with chicken chicks and there has never been a problem, maybe thats just because they were raised together. I am very new to quail but I dont think I will be too worried about keeping them near each other.

My Buttons live in the building I used for brooding chick, its nice and warm for them. When I'm cleaning the pens I let everyone roam free inside the building and I've never had problems... Sometimes when I'm taking a long time they nap together
