hello,
i have a male and female king quail and now the king quail is peaking and attacking her to a bloody pulp on the back of her head and her back so is this a mating thing, what should i do because I'm really worried
thank you

Hello,

I don't have experience with King quail, however, since there is blood she should be seperated or it could be death.

Please remove her to another enclosure - preferably near the mean quail but with places to hide and things to break the line of sight so she's not stressed out as much and can heal.

What do you keep them in now? How long have you had them together? Just throwing this out there but are you sure of their sexes? What do you feed them?

I agree with Binki - on the questions as well. If we find no obvious cause from your answers to the questions, there is a risk that you simply have an overly aggressive male that shouldn't be kept with hens.
I have a male that pulls the feathers on the neck of his girl when mating her, I'm only putting up with that because his color is so interesting I can't figure out what it is. If he was making her bloody I wouldn't put up with him. But in any case, I'd attempt reintroduction once the hen is fully healed and has her feathers are back. If it repeats, the male wouldn't live long in my care.
