Hi all.
I have a few jumbo quails and i gave them a nice coop with a small yard of about 2m x 1m but they seem to sleep in the yard and none of them wants to enter the coop? Does anyone know why this is please help

I currently have 4 females and one male they love the small yard and lives to take dust baths. They started giving me my first eggs yesterday but i thought that they wil at least use the coop to lay eggs or to sleep in but they dont..

Sorry. I just realised this is the introduction area

Hello, and welcome to Backyard chickens! Glad you joined us, and I hope your quail start using the coop! I have never raised quail, but when my chickens were first introduced to the coop, I had pick them up and set them on the roost every night for about a week. But now they have it all figured out. You might like to check out the South Africa thread, here is a link to it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/595787/chicken-breeders-or-folks-in-south-africa. I hope you have fun here!

I don't know anything about quail but, if you post on the "Quail thread," I'm sure they can help you out. Just put Quaill thread in the search box above and it will take you there.
