ut-oh, candled the ones we got cooking, I was really expecting to have to toss more than a few, as these are from the older hens and they push the younger roo around a bit. but looks like only 2 clears, and 2-3 less developed than should be at this point from what I could see in a dark closet- lol...no funky smells, that's good. sweet!

No worries, I learned it from reading it somewhere...I was thinking xrays as well but with the heat these days people got concerned with them bbqing so they requested me not to use the foil. It doesn't work 100% of the time but hey if it helps a little, why not

Someone mentioned wrapping them in a cloth...must find what that is called...any ideas?

I wondered about adding a small ice pack or couple cubes of ice in several sealed bags with these coolers, just to get them out of Florida...I can do an experiment on that one...get Max/Min temp over 5 days in the sun...

Aside from rough handling, I wonder if Airplane travel (altitude/pressure) impacts shipped eggs more than Truck travel...

It rained here late, its cool now, shipping these in the AM, hope they stay cool and viable (if they are fertile).

Luckily, Fall is coming and cooler weather.

My post office being as nutty as they are said that boxes get randomly chosen to be xrayed. Now I don't know if this is true or not but it's possible. Lead foil would deter more rays than aluminum that's for sure. Hence why we have the the lead cloaks when getting xrays ourselves. Hmmm the ice packs seem like a good idea. Summer months are always tougher IMO but it's always doable
