Anyone have an idea how to help a bird with allergies. He sneezes a few times a day and occasionally his nares make a whistling sound. He has no discharge and has been taken to a vet. The vet said his lungs are clear and he looks fine. So I figure it's allergies. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you cover his cage at night? Or is he on any kind of bedding (shavings etc) in his cage? Any plug in scent thingees going or anything strongly scented in his environment? I know birds are sensitive to essential oils, synthetic scents, aerosols etc.

I just use paper towels for his bedding, no scents as I am sensitive to them, gives me headaches. I don't cover his cage at night.

As long as he's not sneezing chronically I would try not to worry too much. I can't think of anything else it might be off the top of my head.

It's just a few times a day mainly in the morning. I'm not really worried as he seems happy and looks good. Thanks for the help

Chickens sometimes just sneeze because they have to sneeze. Some sneeze more than others, but if he’s been taken to a vet and they say he’s fine, he is probably just a sneezy bird. Or he needs a bath, that might help
