This is my 12 week old Quamby, purchased from a breeder. I feel a bit silly asking the breeder to confirm that she's a girl, but her tail is so different to my other hen ( a Brahma) that it makes me wonder.

She also has one very crooked toe, she's doesn't limp, but will this be a problem?

(I'm totally new to chickens if that's not starting the obvious!).

She is a pullet! Her tail may appear very different from your other females because her tail is only in development right now, which tends to confuse new chicken keepers because it can appear as if she is growing sickles like a cockerel. However, of course, females will never grow sickles unless they have hormone issues, and Easter Egger pullets especially tend to grow in curving tail feathers, but those feathers are then replaced by the chicken growing normal tail feathers over them.
