Quarantine Time Period

I finally wore my parents down, and they said that I could get another hen to add to my little,tiny,puny,would make the the laughing stock of BYC flock.

We are looking at some RIR pullets my roo is RIR so when I hatch I can have pure RIR, and some cute mixes.

So how long will she have to stay in solitary confinement I um mean Quarantine. lol

I do it for a week to 10 days. That may be too long according to some, but I feel it's a good time period. You should notice any problems in that time. Watch for poop, coloring of comb and waddles, is she talking (sign of contentment) on the new one.

I for some reason thought it was longer. any other input ? might do it for 2 weeks just in case.

I quarantine for 30 days just to be sure...

And its not about the size of your flock, its about the amount of happiness they bring you.
