I'll be picking up a new 9 week old BO pullet tomorrow. I know she needs to quarantined for 30 days to ensure she doesn't have any health issues. She'll be quarantined in the house and she'll have her own feeder/waterers that will only be used for her.

Once she clears quarantine I plan to put 1-2 other pullets with her so she isn't alone when I integrate her with the rest of the flock.

My questions pertain to sanitization/sterilization when I move between her and my other chicks. Is simple hand washing enough? Should I have a bleach solution to sterilize my shoes and such when going out to tend to the other chicks. Should I change clothes before going out to tend to the other chicks?

My current chicks haven't been vaccinated and have only been around other chicks that were hatched and incubated indoors. This is my first time introducing an "outsider" so assume I know zero, lol.

Whenever I've got a bird in quarantine, I take care of my originals first, then take care of the new one. Things will be tracked from your old flock to the new, exposing it to what's already on your farm. (That is, if you don't have specific clothes for each.)
If you're walking into the other bird's space, your shoes will be your biggest exposer. Poop from one pen will get on the bottom of your shoes and be dropped into the next pen. Anything that comes in contact with the new bird will be at risk of exposing your others. (So if you pick her up, hands and shirt. If you change her waterer and it splatters on you, shoes, pants, anything else that got wet. Also, don't dump the waterer, feeder, or litter anywhere that your flock will have access to)

That sounds way easier than the crazy scenario I was cooking up in my head. It also makes sense to slowly expose her to things in my yard and see if it causes any issues before integrating her. Thanks!
