Hi peeps :)

I'm hatching Coturnix, day 12 (unless I miscounted my days) and turning the eggs I saw one has pipped already

What do I do? Stop turning and up humidity? Leave it as is? Keep turning but not the one egg?
I'm at loss, not sure why this happened, last batch one hatched on day 14 and I thought that was early.....

Hi momofseven

I'm new to this myself. But I can say that everything I've read say 14-17 days to hatch. I'd have to say stop turning them. Maybe some of the veterans can elaborate more for us.

What was your incubation humidity up to now? From what I've read is to incubate @ 60% humidity n Raise to 80%. When you stop turning 3 days before hatch. Keep it running till you are done. You still need the temp.

I'll be putting my first ones in to hatch in a few days hoping to get a few more eggs soon. I just started to get some eggs a couple days ago. So this is my first rodeo. But been doing a lot of reading to figure it out.

I finally found a few people that raises them near me. So I'll be doing a little verbal research shortly.

Good luck

I suggest you up your humidity to 60%. You might also want to make sure your temperature is reading correctly. When the temp is on the high side it will cause the hatch to happen early.

Swbradly

If at hatch you up humidity to 60%. What should the humidity be at up to hatch?
