Question about a home made incubator

So I'm making a home made incubator for 5 eggs and I'm starting to wonder if my heat lamp is going to be to close to the eggs? I put 2 eggs in just for looks and they are about 7 inches away from the bulb. Am I worrying to much?

what is your wattage? size of incubtor? temp?

I'm using a 26 watt bulb and plan on keeping the temp between 98-101*F. I'm still waiting from my thermometer to calibrate correctly since it's brand new and was very off when I first turned it on. The size of my incubator is 13.5 inch by 10 inch styrofoam container.

Thank you!! I'm new to using an incubator, usually I just let my broody hens do it but I wanted to give this a try. We'll see!
