Hello all! This summer, I let my American game hen set on her eggs, because the father is a bantam cross and I wanted to see what kind of chicks I'd get. All of them, turns out, will probably be more bantam sized - some more than others - but I have a question about their father. I was told he was a Serama/white leghorn bantam cross, but he has the puffy cheeks most often seen in Easter-Eggers and Ameraucanas (and most of his kids do, too).
So, my question is: Are there any bantam breeds that have the puffy cheeks? If not, what else might be in his bloodline? Dare I hope to get some really pale blue bantam eggs from my little pullets someday?
Just curious!
