Your coop and pen space sounds good to me... but just to warn you, lol you will end up stuffing it full to capacity after their first laying breeding season, so starting bigger is always better.We were planning on making their coop space where they had three feet of roost space per bird and the run would be ten square feet per bird. I plan on planting various bushes and sago palms etc inside the run area for natural plant material for them to hide in if they need to. Does this sound like it will be big enough?
I was going to keep 25 hens and five males in the large pen and I have a smaller pen I was going to keep some extra hens and males in.

I would not waste your time or money on planting anything in their pen tho, they will most likely eat it within a few days, down to the nubs. You can however plant some little raised beds of grasses and greens that have a wire cover over them... that way the grasses and greens can be continually nibbled on, but can still continue to grow, or you can remove the cover off of one while another is growing etc.
