Question about broodyness

We've had broody hens that are easily cured after 24 hours of being off of the nest. -placed them in a large dog crate with food and water, and after a day/day and a half they were ready to return to the flock. Our little bantam hen will sit on the nest indefinitely. -have tried the conventional methods to break the broodiness to no avail. Finally, after she stayed on the nest for five weeks, we got a day old chick and placed under her. -was the best mother and was happy as could be. When the chick was six weeks old, she went broody again.

-just let her stay on the nest until she got over it on her own. Like the previous poster stated, they are all very different. Try the suggested methods (as stated by above post) for breaking the broodiness. Hopefully, your broody will return to her usual state soon. Good luck!
