if I were to buy fertile eggs to be ready for my first warm weather broody, how/where do you store them & is there an amount of time that can pass before they go bad?
Lets say I buy them now & my girls don't go broody till May.

Hello, Kelly,

What you may want to do is pre buy some eggs, with the seller knowing that you will let them know as soon as you have a solid brood, you will need the eggs sent, there are many breeders who will work with you on this. If you are looking to buy through an auction site, just wait until you have broody ready to go before buying.

When you have a good broody, on that is refusing to move, pecking at your hand and giving you the "you can't see me" stare, gradually change her real eggs out with wooden ones so she has something to set until your eggs arrive.

To be honest, on this board, once May rolls around you shouldn't have problems finding the quality and breed of eggs you are looking for as everyone should have eggs coming out their ears by then, lol.
