Hi all! I'm on day 8 actually, BLRW eggs that i feared were scrambled when i got em, despite their being packed very nicely. I sorta candled them with a maglite after they settled for a day, and the air cells were moving around like in a level...I put them in anyway, cause i paid a ridiculous amount of $$$ for them, crossed my fingers, toes, and eyes...really only my eyes, I'm too old to cross my fingers anymore.

In the meantime i bought a real candler, the Ova-view hi-intensity, yesterday was the big day...and hurray! they all seem to be developing, though it's still really hard to see through those brown shells. But the air cells still seem to be moving, am i seeing things? Also, apparently i put pne in upside down, it was funny shaped with two pointy ends, i can see a very clear lil embryo near the shell on the opposite side from the airspace.

So questions...should i reorient the funny egg? My instinct says no...Are these eggs gonna be ok with everything moving around like this? Any predictions? Comments?

THanks!
Lynn

It sounds like some of the eggs have detached or damaged air cells after shipping. If you go to my website there's incubation information and links to articles about incubation of eggs with damaged air cells.

I have some muscovy eggs now that arrived with bubbly badly detached air cells.. the air cells never did reattach from letting them set.. however I have only lost a few due to non development.. they others are doing fine despite the bad air cells.. so I am of the opinion that so long as the yolk isnt scrambled the air cells dont matter that much as for being detached or bubbly

Thanks! I feel better now! Just gotta leave them alone, and not spy on them til later.
