Over a week ago my goose laid her first egg. It was small, but then it was her first. I expected to start getting eggs regularly now that she's started. So far it appears she hasn't laid another. A couple days ago she was in her nest for a couple hours. When she took off across the pasture I carefully checked the nest, even looked for a buried egg, and there was nothing there. Is this normal for a goose that is just a year old? Some of the neighbors want goslings from this pair as they are dewlap Africans. Neighbors liked the look of them even when they were little fluff balls.
