Getting ready to build new coop. Been looking at a lot of designs and taking in a lot of information about predators. Has anyone had any experience with hogs? I don't think they would prey directly on chickens, but will they try raiding food supplies? The design I'm settling on includes a storage addition on the end of the coop for feed and supplies. I'm planning on including an electric perimeter, but the hogs here in southern Georgia aren't deterred by much. I've had them push down feed lot panels to get into a garden. Has anyone ever had an issue? Or is my paranoia kicking in?

A hog will eat anything! They will even eat their own babies. So they would eat chickens if they got hold of them. They will also dig under any fence if they can't push it down. I've not been around feral hogs but I was raised around hog farms. I think you need a very secure enclosure and you are correct in being paranoid.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I'll definitely be looking at reinforcement for the ladies. I work odd hours at times so security is a high priority.
