Question about free range

... what about winter ?
Try talking to Arkansas breeders!
3 Months of age is young to fend for itself!

You can find the information you need in the 'stickies' at the top of the Peafowl page. When it is time to let them out only let one out at a time and let it back in at night. Eventually, you will be able to let them both out and they will come back in the pen to eat and roost. In time they will not come back into the pen except to eat but you can capture them if you want. The best protection from predators is a LGD.

Sigh! Couple o' beauties! I have seriously considered a GrPyr around here, but I don't think I could maintain the coat, and even my Sheltie suffers from MO's heat. :hmm

Can't be any worse than Kansas. The worse part is keeping the dew claws trimmed.

Is KS humid? I'm originally from the dry southwest and feel like I'm on another planet. Also, I now have age and health issues, so a small dog is about all I can manage. :hmm

At the moment it is 11am, 85*, 91% humidity, and a heat index or 102*. Compared to Phoenix we are living in soup.

Lol, then you do understand.
I lived in Phoenix for a year back in '75, it was glorious, even the 117* days were wonderful. That was back before all the watering drove the humidity up and swamp coolers still worked for airconditioning. Those were the days.

Oh yes! Back then I think it still smelled like orange blossoms, too! Remember?
